Pigment is the only element of the treatment whose result you will not see for a month — and which you will then live with for the next two years. That is why you choose it differently from the rest of your equipment.
Mineralne czy organiczne
This is not a division into better and worse, but into different behaviour in the skin. Pigments mineralne have larger particles and metabolise more slowly and more predictably — they usually lighten evenly, without drifting into cool tones. Pigments organiczne give higher coverage and more intense colour, but they require greater precision in choosing the undertone. In practice most PMU artists work with both groups, matching them to the skin type and the result they want.
Why the composition matters years later
White, green and carbon are the three ingredients most often responsible for brows turning grey or bluish after two years. Not because they are faulty — they simply metabolise at a different rate from the rest of the mixture, and whatever stays longest determines the final colour. The Mineral Drop line was built without these three ingredients for exactly that reason.
Brows and lips are two different worlds
The skin of the brows is thinner and less vascularised; the lips are the opposite. The same shade will behave completely differently in each. That is why lip and brow pigments are separate lines, not one palette used two ways.
How to store it
At room temperature, away from light, in the original packaging. Always note the batch number in the treatment record — in the event of a complaint or an adverse reaction it is the only piece of information that lets you establish the cause quickly.
Frequently asked questions
How do mineral pigments differ from organic ones?
By particle size and by how fast they metabolise. Mineral pigments fade more slowly and more predictably; organic ones give stronger coverage and saturation. The choice depends on the client's skin type and the result you want.
Why do brows turn grey or blue after the treatment?
Most often because the ingredients in the mixture metabolise at different rates, and those with a cool undertone stay longest. The depth at which the pigment is implanted and the skin type also play a part.
How much pigment does one treatment use?
It depends on the technique and the area, but for a standard brow treatment we are usually talking about a few drops. A 5 ml bottle is enough for many treatments — provided it is stored correctly.
How to match the shade to your client's complexion?
The starting point is the skin's undertone — warm, cool or neutral — not the hair colour itself. For skin that tends towards redness it is worth reaching for shades with a cooler undertone, to neutralise the warmth of the skin.
Can the pigment separate in the bottle?
Yes, and this is perfectly normal. Shake the bottle thoroughly before every use — otherwise you will draw off a fraction with a different concentration from the one you expect.
