What hybrid pigments are

A hybrid is a blend in which organic and mineral colourants work side by side. The organic ones are responsible for the saturation of the healed colour. The mineral ones for its calm, even fading over time.

That is why hybrids are often the default choice for brows. Your client leaves the studio with a visible result, and a year later there is no surprise with a colour that went its own way.

How Gentle Drop Brow behaves in the chair

Soft pixel. The edges stay light, without a hard border, so it is easier to build natural transitions and work on shape, not only on fill.

Controlled saturation. You can add colour in layers and stop exactly where you want.

Gentle fading. The formula was built so that the colour comes down softly rather than in patches.

This line forgives more than heavily saturated organic pigments, so it also works well for artists who are still building their own approach to colour.

Hybrid or mineral

In short: you choose hybrids when the result has to be visible straight away and still fade softly. You choose mineral pigments, that is Mineral Drop, when predictable fading matters most and lower saturation at the start is acceptable.

Why the result can be planned

Gentle Drop Brow is a formula developed at OVA by Magdalena Mazurek, based on twenty years of work on brows. Not a ready made formula bought off the shelf, but a blend put together for one specific problem: a result visible from the first day that still looks the way it was meant to look a year later.

The greatest value is not the colour in the bottle, but knowing what will happen to it. When you know the formula and you know the skin, you can predict the direction of the fade and match the working depth to the target result. That saves time on corrections and builds the trust of a client who gets exactly what you showed her.

Frequently asked questions

Do hybrids fade to grey?

Cool healed results are most often caused by white, green and carbon, because they stay in the skin longer than the rest of the blend. Gentle Drop was designed for gentle fading, but with any line the right undertone and the right working depth matter most.

Are they suitable for hair stroke work?

Yes. The soft pixel is an advantage here, because a stroke does not spread into a patch and stays legible.

Can I mix Gentle Drop with other lines?

Technically yes. It is worth remembering that when you mix two blends, you also mix the rate at which they metabolise, and that is harder to predict than the colour right after the procedure.

Are these pigments suitable for lips?

For lips we have a separate version, Gentle Drop Lips. Lip skin is thinner, better supplied with blood and has its own undertone, so the formula is different.
